I have some questions about henna hair dye. 1) how to use it. 2) how long does it last 3) will it damage my hair color/is it safe? 5) what is the up keeping, my hair is naturally reddish blonde and I would like to dye it black with henna. I will use the Lush henna dye.

Its messy. I'll start off by saying that. So have plenty of old towels around to cover the floor/counter and yourself if possible. Just be sure to follow directions to a T with Lush. Don't try and tweak anything if its your first time using. I would definitely apply Vaseline on the tops of your ears and along your hairline so it doesn't bleed onto forehead and neck. How does it last? Its dependent on how often you wash your hair and with what and generally health of your hair. 8 weeks before you start seeing your roots. Do not use a sulfate based shampoo because it will accelerate fading of the henna. Its considered by many to be safe but as with anything there are some that are allergic to it so I advise doing a patch test the day before you plan on applying to hair. If you have a natural wave/or curl pattern to your hair it will definitely relax it even more so and it will add a smidgen of body to your hair if thin and lacking body is an issue.
