I have a black eyeliner pencil, but I hardly ever use it because I feel like it is too harsh and too obvious. Any tips on using eyeliner in a subtle manner? And I can't do a cat eye to save my life, so sadly that is out of the question :(

I find smudging out my eyeliner makes it into a charcoal-y/ deep deep gray shade. You could apply just a little of the eyeliner then smudge it out.

Great idea Cinthya! And I have not Sabrina, would I use it on both top and bottom, or just top?

Setting it with a brown shadow would take away the starkness of it :)

I never thought about that Rebecca! Thanks!

You don't have to do tight lining on both the top and bottom. You could just do one or the other.

Thank you Cinthya! I will give that a try tonight!

Taylor definitely just do your top when you find black a bit to harsh :) I love to tighline when I wanna look like I'm not wearing any liner :) It just gives the illusion of really full lashes :) And this way you won't have that harsh black line!

What Sabrina said :) another suggestion (what I do cause I can't use eyeliner to save my life) is use an angled brush in some black eyeshadow and lightly line just my eye shape on top and sometimes bottom if I won't be wearing any mascara on my bottom lashes haha :)

Even consider getting some different shades of pencil which are dark blackened plum or black brown that will look less harsh?
