So I bought the last box they had. but I was thinking I need two.. what do you ladies think? my hair is pretty long and thick, so I'm afraid it may not be enough.. also, my birthdays tomorrow and I'm hesitant to do it tonight or just wait till the weekends over? I'm aware the color will be orangy, I just really want this black out!

I have to get two, sometimes that not even enough. If you look at my pictures, you can see how long and thick my hair is to get an idea.

Yea my hair is about the same length/thickness as yours. so I'll just wait and grab another box at another store.. So after using the color oops, how did your hair look? color wise and damage..

What color are you going to do after you strip it?

Sorry, I never used color oops, I should've been more specific. I used Garnier Nutrisse.

I honestly don't know what color to do, I was hoping itd be presentable enough to wear a few days while I snoop around for the right color. I want a dark blonde/honey brown color.

For every other color I've done, different shades of blonde, different shades of brown, I've always used Revlon Colorsilk. 2 boxes, $3 each. It's always worked well for me too.

Allison, how many boxes did you use?
Nov 9, 2014
Allison W.
I only used one box. I also knew if some spots weren't covered though I was going to dye over them anyway, but I don't remember there being missed spots. I used 2 boxes of dye though because I didn't want any signs of the brassy color, and it came out lighter than expected.

How long/thick was your hair at the time? I'm tempted to just use the one and even it out as much as I can and maybe get another box if needed afterwards. I just don't want patches of black left in random spots.

And also Allison, was the end result color all that terrible? I was hoping it would look decent enough to wait a few days or so till I redye.

Yea that's where it gets tricky because I stripped my black to go to cherry coke red. My hair was down to my bra line, and I have pretty thick hair.

It wasn't terrible but it was obvious I did something to it, as if that wasn't the color I was going for. Lol. I had a pic on my old phone, the color wasn't even. it was a lot of shades of orange/blonde. I had one blonde streak going down the side of my head and looked like wiz khalifa.

Hmm, I'm so back and fourth with my thoughts right now lol!!
What would you honestly reccomend I do?
BTW, thank you so much for your help! I'm so thankful to have had some sincere replies

No problem! Honestly if it was me I would do it tonight so I can have nice hair for my birthday. I get super picky about my hair so if it came out where I hate it I would do everything in my power to fix it. I would strip it, treat it, then dye it, possibly twice depending on the results. You'll probably be up late tonight if you do it now though, I just wouldn't want you to hate your black hair for your birthday. Lol. I just know how much better I feel if I feel good about myself, ya know?

Its always good to stock up on those because when I wanted to get my black hair out which had faded to a dark brown I used two whole boxes and when I rinsed it my hair was jet black minus my blonde roots I was so upset because I was planning on not bleaching my hair then I had too because I was going red.
