I got a little sample with my points at sephora and I used it to set my under eye concealer and when I took a picture with flash it turned up really white under there? why is this and what is that powder supposed to be used for then?

Maybe that could have been the problem I am new to that powder and I think I did use a beauty blender also so that very well could be the problem.

This powder in particular is an HD powder; it is almost 100% silica, which in high concentrations gives white flashback. Have you ever seen that picture of Angelina Jolie, in which she looks like she has white splotches all over her face? Too heavy handed with the HD powder. That is, unfortunately, a risk you take when you use an HD powder. What I personally like to do is to swirl my brush in the lid, as opposed to actually in the product, and then sweep it really lightly from my forehead down to my nose, then from one eye to the other, then just run the brush (without picking up any more product) over the rest of my face.

It turns out I don't have dry skin I have oily but dehydrated skin lol
