i've changed up some things in my skincare routine over the last few months, and my skin looks awesome. i'm so happy with it. so i thought i'd share with you guys what i do..

i changed cleansers. i most often use noxema deep cleansing wash but i never ever wash my face more than once a day. i just got a clarisonic and today was the first time using it, so i hope there are only positive changes ahead! like i was saying, though, i wash once a day, at night, to remove my makeup. in the morning, i use a biore wipe. i switched to biore because they are alcohol free.

i use the same moisturizer during the day that i have for a long time - clinique. at night, though, i have been using a few things. i use a moisturizer for aging that i got from sally's called correctionist some nights, with mary kay oil free gel moisturizer on any dry spots. sometimes i'll wipe whatever i have left on my fingers over the rest of my face. once a week when i use coconut oil on my hair, i coat my face in a layer that i let sink in while i soak my hair, so for a minimum of 2 hours. before bed, some nights i use alba un-petroleum jelly. this has coconut oil in it, too! i saw it recommended in a video by kandee johnson and i'm glad i did. it really does plump the skin!

i don't break out at all now, and i haven't had a pimple in over a month. i never broke out often to begin with but i would get one here or there. now i have none. my skin is soft and looks like it has a nice glow. my best friend hadn't seen me in about a month and when she saw me she asked if i got botox, lol! i'm 27, btw.

i just wanted to share the products i use and hopefully i can help someone who needs to try something new:)

so i just wanted to update since i've been using my clarisonic for a month. i think it's only helped improve the look of my skin. tone, texture. it really cleans my skin and i can FEEL the difference. now if i don't use it i feel like i'm not clean enough. I've also started using cerave moisturizer during the day just to try something new, because i felt my face was a little bit dry with the changing weather where i live (literally changes 20 degrees in a few days.. last sat was 60 degrees, then by tues it was 25, and by next wed it's supposed to be back to the 50s, with snow on friday. not good for the skin!) i also use witch hazel as a toner though i don't do it daily. i've started to go entirely sunless tanning (i do tan in beds and don't care for any discussion about that) until warmer months so i like to let my face keep the tan best i can. using toner daily just isn't necessary for me so i don't do it.

for those interested in a clarisonic - my skin didn't really "purge" like i've read people say happens. i had a few tiny pimples, like 3. and to be honest, i'm not sure if it was from the clarisonic or the spray tan solution. i only use it once a day, at night, when i'm removing my makeup. it takes everything off, literally everything! it's great. but i still don't think it's necessary to wash my face twice a day, and that's not going to change unless my skin does. i will always advocate people trying it out my way. you don't wash your hair every day (or you shouldnt!), your hair adjusts. your skin does the same thing. and letting your natural oils work for you is better than overwashing and adding chemical products to your skin.

hope this helps!

(just to clarify my skin type for those who are interested: i have combination skin that can be a bit dry in some spots, but it's mostly normal. i rarely break out and do not have blackheads or anything. i have really good skin and get complimented on it often. i'm lucky in that way. but i still do think the products used can make a difference in how pretty, glowy, and radient your skin looks!)
