THAT is a keloid! Everyone on here thinks the little skin colored bumps are but they are not, this is a true keloid. You must go to the doctor to get these removed, there usually freeze them or something. It's just extra scar tissue.

If it hurts to touch though it may be infected

But it's not like keloid but the skin is growing around the ring, so I took the ring out and I put in the straight barbell but it began to bleed alittle because of the skin.

The picture provided looks like a keloid..a red inflamed bump. You may just want to go to your piercer then and have them check it out.

Please just go to a good piercer or go ask on the Facebook group "Ask a professional piercer" what is best. Don't take advice from anything less than professionals.. can't stress that enough. no offense on Renay ofc n.n.

You just really need to stop changing things too early, I'm not trying to sound like a downer but you're always having some kind of issue when you change your piercings, I think you need to be more patient before you rush into changing your jewellery, just let things heal first.

And it looks like the bump I've had on my nose piercing a few years ago, it could just fall off with cleaning, mine did but If not, I think Renay is right and if it continues to get any bigger then you'll need to see a professional.

Agreed with shaye. You really have to wait and your skin may be sensitive to piercings and take longer to heal. Generally you need to wait 3-6 months for most piercings to heal, but some people it takes a lot longer.
But I'd go see your piercer. It shouldn't cost a thing, just ask how to take care of it. It's hard to see but if it looks like the above pic, it's a keloid. And you don't want any risks if it's infected. Just remember to clean it with sea salt/saline twice a day and don't touch it or irritate it.

I agree with the above ladies. Piercings take A LOT longer to heal than people realize. Also the saline wash is amazing at healing. It does need to be sea salt, not table salt FYI.
Also, I would go back to your piercer. They can take a look and give the best advice.

It's a keloid formed from extra scar tissue. I have one on the back of my conch piercing & I didn't even change the earring.

Okay but atleast it's not painful when I touch it so I think it's going to be ok, but yeah cartilage takes up to a whole year too heal which sucks:-)

If you know it takes a year to heal, leave it well alone and clean with salt water. Definately see your piercer or doctor. Maybe both. I hope you heal up soon and have no more bother with it. xx
