I don't really know but I'm pretty sure I've heard it's best on dirty hair as it provides some protection to the hair.
But I'm not too sure as I don't often dye my hair myself.

I do hair and I prefer clean hair...but it depends on the person doing it...it's going to be damaging regardless, you can use a treatment after for protection.

Usually when I go to get my hair cut I try to shower the night before so it doesn't have a ton of product in it and then get the color while it's dry then they usually wash and cut so it is a little dirty when they do it.

I was going to go get highlights done at a salon. Like 3 days dirty is okay? (I usually wash it about every 5)

I think as long as there is not a ton of product in it then it's fine I think that's usually the main concern especially if you are thinking of going blonde.
