I have oily acne prone skin that is uneven and very red. By the end of the day right now my face is shiny with blotches of foundation on my face.. Awful. What primers/foundations/concealers would you recommend?

Don't use the bare minerals if you're oily, the talc will break you out.

I have oily,acne-prone skin with sensitivity. I find using a gentle cleanser and rich, fragrance free moisturizer prevents me from breaking out and actually keeps my oils at bay. So now, I don't have to wear mattifying foundations or mattifying primers.
I would say if you really just want to alleviate the symptom, that Sephora makes a really good Anti-Shine Primer that is about $17.00. It never caused me to break out or get irritated. Also, when I firsted started clearing my skin up I used Clinique's Redness Solutions Foundation. It helps to calm irritation as well as cover any imperfections and looks really natural after it sets. Clinique's Superbalanced makeup is good for adding moisture to your skin where it needs it and drying up any excess oil where you have it. Hope that helped somewhat!

Hey that's awesome! Sometimes skin just sucks! Cetaphil is really awesome = ) PS: Neutrogena has a new line out called Shine Control that I have heard good thing about and they carry an anti-shine primer also! = P Good luck!

Avoid primers, concealer, most foundation. Those alone will make your face red and breaking out. Most primers, if not all are terrible, and so are concealers. I use Dinair, it sets all day, no need for concealer. Bare Minerals is second best. Look up 'comedogenic ingredients' online, and it'll tell you a list of ingredients to avoid that gives you more comedones (zits).

Whats your skin care routine like...if your makeup isnt holding up its gotta be your skincafe...make sure your using a cleanser and moisturizer for oiky skin...you still need hydration even if your oily...that could be the cause for uneven texture...definitly look into your skin care...hope this helps

Michelle - i do have acne prone skin but most of it has cleared up now and i have red skin when I'm not wearing makeup. And Ana - i shared my skincare routine above , i do moisturize. I just have very oily skin regardless of doing so.
