How to get a good photo of makeup?

I always try new looks which end up pretty good, so naturally, I want to take a picture! My problem being, I can (almost) never capture a good shot of my makeup! Any tips on how to get a good picture of my makeup? Thanks loves💕

My friend is a pro by trade and she uses this bright LED light. No shadows/overhead lighting and if in natural light...it can be harsh, but accurate..lol
