Melasma causes dark spots on your face and is usually caused by hormones. Mine started showing up when I went on the Pill for my Acne. Now I'm dealing with both kinds of spots! The good news is I found something that works really well to fade the red acne marks and the brown patches from the Melasma.

I use the cheap cream you can buy at the drugstore (Porcelana) like a mask. I just glob it on, let it dry, and then wipe if off, a few times a week.

Before bed I use Murad's rapid skin lightening serum. It's really expensive but this is the product that actually really works. The Porcelana by itself didn't do much.

I only use this method for three months out of the year because hydroquinone can be hard on your liver. Make sure to read the instructions on the products!

Hope this helps someone out there with dark spots, I know mine made me feel pretty unattractive.
