Your not going to scar if you pop a pimple, just don't like "over" pop it or pick at it cause then you could scar.

Exactly Jacqlyn that's a huge cause of more pimples! Whenever I tell people that you can tell the look on their face it all makes sense to them afterwards.

I'm a big fan of Dr. Oz. & he says it's best to pop it if it's white (no popping is good, but if your going to do it; do it when it's a white head). He says take a needle & go through one end to the other & pull up. So don't go into the face go along the face, if that makes senses lol. Then let it drain & clean it.

Alright. I thought I'd share my method...I've never had any problems but I don't know if it would for other people.

If it's a whitehead, I usually use a clean wet hot (not boiling) washcloth, apply the compress to the pimple and pull. & I repeat until it's gone. After that, I always disinfect.
But don't touch it with your hands PLEASE!
Does anybody know if this is a good technique or not?

Everyone may not scar or experience any external side effects but Jacqlyn is 100% right that when you put anything you are breaking the root of the pimple open under the skin and all that bacteria is oozing out into your skin. Obviously, that is not good for your skin. I used to be the same way I would get one a month other than that always had good skin and didn't scar from popping them so I didnt think it was a big deal until I saw an explanation in class about what happens underneath during the process and its just not healthy for your skin. I also agree with Jacqlyn on her treatment recommendation so I understand the temptation but try either out first

I have to strongly agree with kiimy, I always pop mine and the redness would go always after a few hours.

You know what's crazy, I've always popped ever single white head I've ever had and I do not have any scars what so ever. I think it all depends on your skin and how it heals. I could never stand having a big white head on my skin without getting rid of it lol. prolly not the best way to do it and I don't recommend but my skins pretty good and I don't have 1 scar. it takes way to long for the pimple to dissappear for my liking plus I feel like I rather get all the stuff out then let it sink back into my skin if that makes any sense lol.

I have a white head on my chin (it's definitely hormonal) and it finally became a white head. Should I pop it? Or do you have any other recommendations? Thank you!
