Lauren, I have very sensitive skin, but my best tips are:

Schedule Microderm when you don't have work that day or (for very sensitive skin) the next day. It also depends on if you are using diamond tips or crystal, but the next day, my own skin is slightly red and a bit sensitive. Some people experience bumps; it depends on varying factors.
Rinse your face when you get home with cool water, no soap..and lightly pat dry.
I apply pure aloe burn gel from the drugstore with Allantoin in it and a drop of Hyaluronic acid. Aloe Gel without fragrance is fine.
I suggest no make-up for 48 hours.
Physical sunscreen is a must. I'd use SPF 50, but 30 works.
Avoid direct sunlight for the next week. (I do a full 7 days)
Use a soothing, alcohol free toner.

Expect a small amount of discomfort, but a soothing facial afterward to calm and hydrate. It isn't for everyone, but my skin is fine 48 hours later..only better.
Be sure your Estie is licensed and experienced.
I avoid use of AHA, BHA or Reinol and Benzoyl Peroxide for a week prior to microderm. The less sensitive your skin is at that time, the better.
Hope you love the results. I certainly do.
You may find that peels are your better option. I'd discuss those treatments with my Estie while you have the chance.

Hope you like the results.  :)
