Hi beautiful people!
I just wanted to share a bit about how my life has changed after quitting.
This week it's going to be 6 months since I quit and I'm pretty freaking proud of myself!!
I'm 33 and I had already started to see notorious aging signs. I thought it was normal.
Then I quit, and the fine lines around my eyes disappeared, my skin glows again, I have a much healthier color, my perpetual dark undereye circles have faded almost completely.
I can afford to just wear no makeup at all without people asking wether I'm sick lol!
I've been blessed with good teeth, so I had really not many changes in that department, but my husband who decided to quit as well, has noticed how his gums and teeth look much healthier now.
And that's only in the outside. So if any of you has been thinking about quitting I'm telling you, it's hard, but ABSOLUTELY worth it.

Well done! I'm 31 and done 18months without smoking and noticed a real difference. Plus I don't smell like a ashtray anymore! I've never looked back.

Those guilty pleasures! It's been a pain! I don't know how is it that you have never looked back, Louise! I'm craving all the time and I keep a list of my reasons to quit at hand to remind myself of what I'm getting. @Sandra, I grew up as a heavy soda drinker. My mom used to put it in my baby bottle! Lol! Well in her defense, raising kids in a small town in Colombia, you have many other things to worry about that have little to do with nutrition.
But I know exactly what you mean.
That thirst that only soda can quench and overweight were my companions throughout most of my teenage years. Congratulations for taking the first steps! Hang in there!!

I quit 6 months ago too! I smoked a pack a day for 15 years and let me tell you, quitting was the HARDEST THING EVER!! but the benefits totally outweigh any craving. like you said, the whole skin thing...its amazing. my face looks more healthy and glowing, discolored spots are gone and I have color to me again. my gums...I have a small piece of gum that was disconnected and now it is starting to reattach its self. and not to mention the beauty of not coughing all the time!! its a beautiful thing to notice all these improvements from just quitting smoking. all the pain and suffering of quitting was definitely worth it :-)

Luke, I loved smoking too. I miss it dearly. I see people with a cigarette in their hand and I get jealous (crazy, right?). I remeber my last cigarette I ever had...march 28th at 11:00pm and I remeber hanging iut my window smoking and enjoying every minute of it and then I started crying, and threw the rest of my smokes out. dramatic, I know. but it was like my last meal before an execution!! the only reason I quit was because at work we all decided to quit together. we set a quit date, and me being the competitive brat that I am, was on a mission to "out quit" everyone. and I won. everyone else is back to smoking now except me. but I just loved it so much, I loved everything about smoking (except smelling like it).

I'm so happy that there sre so many people making good decisions! I never even started, I don't like the smell but ALL of my friends smoke and it can get pretty yucky. Keep it up everybody, you're awesome!

My boyfriend wS a very heavy smoker and after I quit, I hated the smell and nagged him all the time. He vapes now and it's helped immensely. Might not be as good as not vamping but it's definitely better than cigs. Louise, your vape pen is so cute!!

I gave up smoking about 2 and a half years ago! it was the hardest thing I've ever done! many sleepless nights and constant cravings but it gets so much easier! now I hate them but I do get an odd craving now and again but its so worth giving up I've saved so much money and have started a make up addiction since then :-)

The thing is the pen wasn't working for me. so bought a bigger device that goes higher in voltage to get the nicotine fix I need. it's been helping and I noticed I vape very little now.

Mariana...its so cool of you to share this. My husband lost his step-dad to lung cancer...from smoking...so by quitting you added years to your life versus deducting years. And the same goes for everyone else who is trying to quit or has quit completely. Absolutely awesome and kudos to all.

@Shelley, I understand. I was terrified about the future consequences of my habit but too into it to admit it.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with me. Yes! Vaping works! I used to be a bit embarrassed to take it out in public. I know it's kind of stupid to think people would find it cooler that you're sucking on a cigarette. It was like that a bit. I live in a small tow full of heavy smokers. They even ranted about my e-cig saying it was way worse than cigarettes 😔. But I got over it and kept on. I don't need it, and I forget I even have it. But I do appreciate to be able to distract my cravings when everyone else around smokes.
I have 0mg nicotine in it. I didn't make the transition slowly I just dropped it.
