I agree with Andrea. Also, you could try using a headband with a comb on it when your hair is still wet. For me, whatever part I do when my hair is wet, it'll keep it until I wash it again.

That could just be the way your hair grows... what they call a "cowl".
try blow drying your hair in different directions making sure not to separate that section of hair that automatically parts

I would just comb my hair back while it's wet with wet brush to avoid damage :)

Personally when my hair was long I would always just push my hair back all the time, and it'd part anyway I wanted it to.
