Will a color rinse damage hair?

I did a form of color rinse using a bit of baking soda mixed with my shampoo, it was hard on my hair (but we don't have color oops and things like that in my country) I only needed to lift the color I little bit and it turned out great, but I did have to a couple of hair masks before my hair was back to normal :)

As a personal experience, yes. But because my hair is so thick, and the color I was washing out was sooooo strong (blue) I had to use two boxes. So that caused all the damage in my opinion. If you're hair is fairly healthy I say go for it and just have the things you need to take care of your hair afterwards. (masks, conditioners, etc..)
