Hey ladies! I will be going on a trip and need some help on how/where to store my makeup. Flying from Los angeles, CA to orlando, FL
Question!:
1. Should I keep my makeup in my carry on or check in luggage? I am afraid when I put my makeup in my check in luggage that the luggage part of the plane may get too hot and my lipsticks would melt!
I know carry on liquid rules amount and what not.
Anyone had past experiences?

From personal experience, when I flew from Mobile, Al to Cali I put my makeup in my carry-on and my eye shadows broke.

I usually put all my makeup in my checked bags and I never had a problem with makeup melting or shadows breaking but I'm usually good about surrounding my makeup bag with clothes I think either way is fine but I tend to want to bring more than just a zip lock bag n 3 oz liquids so that's why I just check them.

If you are going to put your makeup in a checked bag, I would recommend finding a hard case to put it in like a metal cookie tin or metal lunchbox. I would then line that with bubble wrap (or even makeup sponges) to absorb any shock. I would keep the makeup tin in between soft clothing like socks, sweaters, towels, ect. And definitely package it like I described earlier.
If you have time, I would go to your favorite makeup store or cosmetics counters and ask for samples of your favorite products, it will save you a ton of space and you wouldn't have to worry about damaging your favorite products!

I usually check my makeup when I travel, which I do often, I just mahe sure it's packed safe! I bring way too much stuff with me to put it in a carry on haha

I bring certain things with me on a carry on and I put some in my luggage. I usually bring my foundation/powder on my carry on. I might also bring 1 lipstick. I've never had a problem in putting makeup in my luggage and having it melting. I've been to Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Las Vegas, all which are extremely hot and my lipsticks have never melted in my luggage. One strange thing I've found is that my Urban Decay Primer Potion becomes strangely liquidy when I travel.

I usually keep my makeup in checked in bags and palettes between clothes so that they do not break. Just the essential items in my carry bag rest all in checked in luggage and I have never faced any problems like lipsticks melting or palettes breaking and my flights are usually pretty long.
