Are nails salons allowed to heat up the gel?

So I go to this nail salon in my town and they hear up the gel that they put on your nails.
It used to just be kinda warm, but now it's so hot that when they open the jar the gel is steaming and it almost a pure liquid form.
It burns SO much when they put it on your nails I actually brought years to my eyes, but all they say is "it's okay".
Now personally I've never heard of them heating the product up, and it definitely shouldn't be to a degree that cashes the client to be in tears.

The hell... I've never had Gel nails but that isnt how its suppose to happen. I would physically stop going there for your own benefit.

Why would they heat the gel?

They do heat up the product but it should be slightly warm not even warm enough for you to even feel really. If it's scorching hot I'd switch nail salons

Yeah... there is no reason for that.

Yeah it's honestly steaming when they open the container!
It goes from being a thick paste to almost pure liquid.
I assume they do this to cut the curing time and it probably makes them use less products on the clients.
But it literally feels like closing your nail between a hot straightener.

I'm scared it's caused damage to my real nails.

Well, I would tell them to let it cool a bit before they apply it to your nails. They're your nails and you are paying them! I would have been like, no mam, not okay it hurts lol

I think that, rather than telling you 'it's okay', they should ask you if you are okay, if it's too hot. And I didn't catch if you tell them if not, but speak up and tell them if they can cool it down a bit like Tia says because it is scalding you! And I'm sure they don't want to scald you! Just like hairdressers when they wash your hair :)

Call the local health and safety department and report that they are injuring their customers. It definitely should not be that hot, and them saying "it's okay" is negligence.

Well all of them barely speak English. I've told them it's too hot and they say it's okay it's okay. Especially in the you've light, it burns so bad but if you take your hand out they like demand you put it back in. I have said this is too hot it's hurting me, which should be known by it pretty much boiling but they barely understand English they just nod and smile..

Yeah it is an Asian salon. I mean the salon is very nice and they do a nice job, it's always very busy but this issue really alarmed me.
I went to a different nail salon last night, run by another Asian group and this one was horrible. The nail job was okay, took forever though, but the customer service was horrible and the salon was so dirty and not organized.
Definitely going to start doing my own or going to a home based business!
