Food coloring for hairdye?

Okay this might be a terrible, idiot question to ask, but I still feel like I need to ask it haha.
So. I was wondering if a mixture of food coloring and conditioner could be used as a hairdye? I realize food coloring is obviously not meant for hair, and I was wondering if it would have any damaging effects? Would it stain your hair? Please bear with me haha

I used red koolaid one year for Halloween! it washed right out lol. but I probably would not use food coloring. I mean you could try it and tell us how it works (: lmao.

One of my friends used green in her hair once and let me just say; HUGE mess. Hahah! But if it were added to conditioner you could maybe try it out, really no harm done if it doesn't work. Or if it does then that's a bonus. I don't think it'd stay for very long at all but a bottle of food colouring could go a long way if it does come out how you're hoping lol :)
