It's hard to see in the photo but you'll definitely have to tone it to get the yellow out.

You could try a purple or blue conditioner for starters, but you might need to bleach it some more.

If you go to a salon they'll help you get what you want.

For platinum I wouldn't be risking a home made job or a salon. Admittedly I don't have blonde hair but seeing what my girlfriends have gone through my recommendation is get the foundations right and go from there. It also will allow you to ask the right questions for upkeep.

You have to use purple shampoo/conditioner quite often to keep the brassiness away. Brassiness can be caused by a number of things in blondes especially. The minerals in your water, chlorine from swimming pools or in water, product build up etc. I use purple conditioner once a week. And I wash my hair 2-3 times a week so it's every second or third wash that I use it to keep brassiness at bay.
And I'm sorry you've had experiences like that at salons but it's definitely not all hair stylists. Many of them care about the state of your hair and want to minimize damage. But as long as the person likes their job and isn't just doing it for money but is doing it because they like hair they will try their best to keep you happy and to make sure they only cause the most minimal as possible damage. Some people's hair just gets a lot more damaged than others and they can't know that unless you tell them.

I use wella color charm toner with 20 developer and it removes all the orange tones my hair pulls. Also purple shampoo and conditioner twice a week to keep it cool toned.

Toner :) I use wella's color charm lightest ash blonde and it works wonders :) my hair is green of course but underneath haha. If you want white or a silvery color though, purple shampoo is a good choice. I use clairol shimmer lights, but be wary it smells awful, and with all other purple shampoos, leaving it in too long will tint it purple.

I agree with Alyx. White hair really isn't the easiest thing to keep. I would leave purple shampoo on mine for an hour once a week, sometimes twice and it will leave a purple tint for
A couple of washes but left it a platinum cool toned blonde rather then yellow. This won't happen after just one use, it takes a few uses.
