Have you seen a dermatologist?

Well if you haven't seen a dermatologist you really need to. But about two years ago, my skin got out of control and a couple of trips to the dermatologist did nothing for me, besides wasting my money. One of the best things I did for me skin was finally getting a Clarisonic. I was skeptical to spend that kind of money on something that I didn't think would work, but it was probably the best thing I did for my skin. I guess there is a lot of mixed reviews but you have to use it correctly and consistently (but that goes for anything). I use mine every night and I use it with a good acne cleanser (I usually switch up my cleansers often but I'm using Murad right now) and I remove my makeup before using. Also you have to buy the correct brush head for your skin type and it doesn't need to be pressed deep into the skin, because that will just make it worse. I have heard people say that it doesn't work and that its too expensive but you have to use it everyday. Another similar product is the Forea Luna (might have spelled it wrong...). But no matter what you need to wash your face every night because that is just going to make your skin issues worse. I don't care how tired, sick (even right after I had surgery...), I always wash my face because if not my skin will break out like crazy.

One more thing, after I wash my face, I follow with a toner (I really love Murad's), spot treatment (if needed), and a gentle moisturizer. I also do facial mask whenever my skin seems to be really irritated (I use Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask).

Can you describe your acne and where you get it?

I agree, the dermatologist is the way to go. I struggled with acne for almost 10 years and in January I finally admitted that I needed professional help and I am kicking my stubborn ass self for not going sooner. My acne is now SO much more manageable. If its within your means I strongly suggest you go.
