I use fake tan regularly and every time when I wash it off it always clings to certain areas on my face making it look really patchy... I have tried exfoliating and moisturizing and it still does it.. I have also switched tan... any help what I can do to stop this??

You really need a high end exfoliant really made for fake tans. Exfoliants that you find in stores only exfoliate the top layer of skin. Brands like DS ( Designer Skin) Exfoliate deeper using Jojoba, Volcanic Ash, and something else I don't remember. DS also has a body wash to help evenly fade your fake tan and using a primer will help your tan last an additional 3-5 days.

Have you got dry skin? That could be part of the problem. As @Tiffany suggested, you need a better quality exfoliant. I'd suggest using a body wash, but DON't do this often as the skin on your face can be delicate!

I'm going to tan tonight... is there anything I can do now that will prevent this from happing or even just prevent it from being so patchy even if it isn't completely gone.

Exfoliate and you can mix your self-tanner with a little bit of lotion to make it more blend able and keeps you moisturized. I use to have this problem as well until I switched to using million dollar tan and I've never had a problem. I always add a little bit of body lotion after I apply the self tanner over my body and face.

I recommend Devoted Creations So Naughty Nude Salt Scrub Exfoliater & So Naughty Nude Tan Extender. It can be used on a fake or real tan and it prolongs the life of your tan & keeps it hydrated. Plus they smell amazing!

& I wouldn't use lotion at all untill after your first shower. It can strip then tan. & products like bath and body works & Victoria secret lotions contain mineral oil which will also stop you from tanning! :)

^ please don't tan outside or in beds, it's soooo horrible for you. Also, I agree that you just need to exfoliate more properly, and also moisturizing your skin each day when you have your tan will prolong the tan and make it fade more even (:

Try using a gradual tanning moisturiser
