They're not bad! I got a set of hautelook a while back when they were on sale. At the beginning they smelled kinda leather-y which kinda turned me off of them, but now that that's gone away, I like them a lot. The powder brushes I have (I don't remember which set I got--sorry!) shed a very slight bit, but they're not horrible. I like them!
