My personal make up pet peeves are:
-Cakey make up
-When someone wears fake eyelashes that are way too big and chunky for them and end up making the eyes super heavy and just blah.
-Unblended make up
-Ridiculous, badly shaped eyebrows
-Messy lipstick
-Smudgy liner
Okay I'll stop cause I'm winding myself up.

Janelle that's very true!
For instance just because I don't like heavy falsies on someone it doesn't mean that they're wrong, maybe they just like that look :)
I like your way of thinking.

People who force their opinions of what looks nice onto others.
I'll tell you pet peeves of mine that apply to myself.
-When my concealer cakes or moves or goes patchy with powder :/
-when my mascara ruins my eyelid
-when my foundation oxidizes
-that white line around my lips

Oh and the stupid scar beside my eye that makes equal eyeliner impossible.

I don't have a whole lot of pet peeves.
I guess really, it just bugs me now when I see makeup that could use more blending or things like that. a girl I work with got her makeup done by a friend before coming in for her shift, & all the technical errors were driving me crazy :/ lolol. I just wanted to wash it all off & do it again for her.
I have Beautylish to thank for that ;D

It's mostly overdone brows that irritate me, especially overdrawn black tadpole eyebrows that look more like lollipops.
And when my mom has mascara all over her face because she's definitely not near-sighted -- to her it's perfect but I always need to come in with a q-tip and "fix" it. On myself, I just hate those days where nothing looks right and you wash your face a million times. If it doesn't do what I want it to do, I have to remove everything and start all over again. Is anyone else like me?

- heavy eyeshadow without eyeliner (it looks good in certain situations but not always lol)
- eyeliner smothered all over the eyes
- eyeshadow with no mascara
-bad eyebrows
so many more too

I saw this lady at a target who was wearing falsies- I guess most of the glue had come off, because they were only attached right at the middle and were a straight line on either side!!

When someone that knows nothing about makeup, can't even blend their shadows, tries to criticize my work.

Ridiculous eyebrows or eyebrows that look so fake that they're cartoonish, having a really really white shiny highlighter on the brow bone with a dark eye look, wearing tons of bronzer, dark lip liner with light lipstick, using a concealer/foundation on your lips as a lipstick, and that's only some! Haha

I'm with breeze, when my makeup doesn't work I wash it off and start all over again and even after like 3 times of trying to apply foundation and mascara, eyebrows etc.I still end up washing it off and going bare faced. - hate bad makeup days lol.

Here's all of mine, just going to get it all out and vent my frustrations, bear with me...
Makeup pet peeve: blush on ears. I used to see this all the time at my old university; girls would be way too heavy handed and vigorous with the blush brush and would get it on their ears, then leave it. Also bright orange contours, drives me up a wall.
Technique pet peeve: people calling anything and everything a smokey eye, when the look is definitely NOT a smokey eye. JUST STAHP.
Skincare pet peeve: when my skin is so dry that even products for dry skin don't do anything and I have to smother my face in aquaphor just to keep it from cracking. Why can't my skin get oily in the summer like everyone else??
Advice pet peeve: people on this site telling people to slather random stuff from their pantry on their face without any knowledge of the ingredients and their risks; people telling people to take vitamins/supplements without consulting a physician. Sometimes people tell people to do things that are downright DANGEROUS.

When girls wear layers of foundation when they don't need it. I cringe every time I see this one girl re-apply at school. I'm just like 'you were blessed with smooth skin. Why on earth would you add layers to your face?' I understand why people apply it, but more than one layer? Ughhh. Just my opinion.

You all are so right!
I've spent a while perfecting my foundation routine. I have bad acne and scars that is very difficult to cover. I got a foundation matched to me by Sephora and it is the perfect match for my skin. It covers my acne and makes my skin look real, non cakey, and smooth. I hate when people tell me I'd look better without it. I feel like they're criticizing my makeup skills.
Too drawn in eyebrows. So many girls at my school draw in their eyebrows to the point where they're look sharpied in.
Way too much eyeliner
Too much or too dark blush
Too much bronzer
Unblended makeup
Spidery lashes and too much mascara
There's probably more, but I can't think of it haha :)

Its hard to have perfect eyebrows when you "draw" them on like me because you were born with sparse brows. lol. My makeup pet peeve would be unmatched foundation and spider like eyelashes.
