Hey so I have this function coming up and I want to get my hair straightened. I have a flat iron, but I won't get time to use in the morning before I go. I decided to go to a salon to get it done, but I have a few questions because I've never actually gone to a salon to have the look last until the next day. Will it last if I do it the evening before and sleep on it? And is there any product they can put so that it's not permanently straightened, but will last for a few days? Thanks :) and sorry for the long paragraph!

Well, usually any form of straightening (like with a flat iron) will last until you next wash it, especially if done by a professional. If your hair is naturally very curly or frizzy, or inclined to do its own thing, warn the hairdresser and ask if there's anything you can do. When my hair is straight, I sleep with it down so as to prevent kinks from hair ties or braids, etc. It's also possible to go over it again lightly with your flat iron the next morning if you notice any waves.

I have super crazy curly hair and I just got it straightened for graduation. I slept with it in a bun and in the morning I only had to do a couple touch ups, I recommend having some sort of anti frizz serum or shine serum because I have found that after sleeping on it, it loses shine and the serum really helps it look nice and healthy. Hope this helped!

Ok that's good to know! I was a bit worried it would just go back to my wavy-curly hair after I slept on it but I'll flat iron over any unwanted waves like you said. Thank you, Hannah :)

I will definitely try the anti frizz or shine serum. You did help, thank you Ciaran!

I agree with the ladies ^^^ also make sure when you are showering to wear a cap...any moisture will make it frizz and if you sweat too.
