It really depends on what's causing it to be dry and itchy. Maybe see your doctor? There are a few things that could cause this so I can't tell you which product to use because I can't pinpoint what's causing it, sorry! But good luck with finding a remedy :)

Yeah is it from dandruff or eczema or psoriasis? I have psoriasis and that has dry patches of skin that produce flakes and I used T-gel for it and it works great for that - also selsun blue is another good shampoo with menthol for dry itchy scalps - if it's dandruff then a good dandruff shampoo like head n shoulders will do the trick

Nooo don't use head and shoulders it causes hair loss! I learned about it when I was in school. Use coconut oil, or a deep conditioner such as cholesterol... Sallys seeks it in the brand Proclaim for about $8.

I had the same problem! Now I use the TGel shampoo (which I get at target) & all the dandruff and psoriasis are gone!

I've had a dry, itchy, flaking scalp for almost 30 years (since I was just a lil tot). I tried just about everything from dermatologists, including tar-based shampoo (which help, but are a b**ch to use!). The only thing I use now is Nizoral, and it is a life-saver. My scalp would get so itchy and painful that would develop bleeding sores. My skin in general is just ultra crazy sensitive, but Nizoral keeps everything at bay and soothes the hurty. Also I would recommend a deep conditioning scalp mask weekly. Sally's has an Argan Oil-based one by Proclaim. It is just beautiful :) ahhhh.
Good luck my dear.
