Its alright, as long as the bronzer isnt too shimmery... but I rather use a darker shade in a foundation or concealer stick for contouring :)

I agree with jacqlyn. some bronzers are ok. Bahama mama by the balm actually matches one of the anastasia contour colors perfectly, it's a cool toned grey ish brown.

I think that beauty "gurus" are pretty much 100% full of it. There are professionals on here who have explained why bronzer is the wrong product. I'd listen to them before I listen to some random untrained girl on Youtube. This, of course, is only my opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own, I simply feel very strongly that this whole Youtube craze is getting out of hand.

I use a very cool toned matte bronzer from elf called matte bronze... It has no warm tones in it and it's awesome! Especially for a dollar! And I only play with contouring, I've never worn legitimate contour in public! I don't really find that using genuine bronzer for contouring ever really sparks my fancy, as I have seen many girls do so and the way I've seen it, was not very flattering or even had the contouring effect. And I would also say I agree with Hannah, simply because I've just seen so many videos claiming technique when EVEN I KNOW that they aren't using the right technique! Like labeling a gradient eye as a smokey eye and falsely informing hundreds of viewers! Nooooooo pleasseeee staaahhhhppppp.

I personally couldn't care less if someone used mud as their contour, if it makes the happy it makes them happy. I know why we 'shouldn't' and I respect that but I don't contour enough to invest in sculpting powder and sometimes I do use a matt bronzer to set my concealer if I do happen to contour (I like layering), sometimes I use eyeshadow and sometimes I just use a slightly different face powder.
Having said that I've seen Sam and Nic Chapman, Robert Jones, Lisa Eldridge, Wayne Goss and Rae Morris all mention bronzer as their contouring at some point or another.
Ovbiously if you can use an offical sculpting powder but I figure if you don't do it enough or aren't a makeup artist then who cares!
Just my 2 cents anyway.

I agree, bronzer is not meant for contouring, way too orange and muddy. it is just as easy to get a powder in a darker shade. bronze are meant for all over to make you look sunkissed. you place it where they sun would naturally hit, contour us cool toned since it is meant to imitate a shadow.
