I think you'd need to strip it and then go to professional hair dressers as box dyes will prob make it worse xxx

Well for something cheaper ..ive been told to use a brown that has a red base to it and it will neutralize with the green ?

go to a Sally Beauty if you have one near you so they can see what's actually going on in person.. then you can get whatever you need while you're there. You probably will have to redo it with a toner. Don't waste your money going to a salon if someone at Sally's can tell you how to fix it for free and you can get the stuff for cheap!

I would go to the store and get the same level brown but not an "ash" color. The ash colors will often give people green and grey tones, so I would just dye over it with a similar brown but not of the ash variety. Things with coppery undertones will balance it out, but as long as you don't pick a lighter color I'm fairly certain it will easily cover the ash tones.

If you want to I blonde to brown you'll need to use a golden brown! If you dye over with a 'golden' or 'warm' colour it will get rid of the green!

I should mention the metals that the drugstore hairdyes contain are what give your hair the undesirable colours. Sally's don't contain them.

Same thing happened to me. Its just colors that have the word ash in it usually. Go for another shade of brown and it shouldnt do that again.

All you need is a red based brown and it will fix it. Toner takes out brasiness in hair I don't think that's going to fix your hair. Stripping it will not give you the end result that you want and as Amanda stated the box colors have metallic salts in them so you should purchase your color from Sally's in the future. If you know a licensed cosmetologist you could also get the color from Armstrong McCall.

U can do a soap cap... Or u can go get the color that used and put a few drops of red to cancel out the green. What color brand did you use?

Toner doesn't only take out brassiness. Blue toners cancel out orange hair colour and so on the same way green concealer can cancel out redness.

Amanda your right I didn't even think about colored toners I've only used toners when I've done highlights to take out brasiness. And I know the color wheel lol

Use something with a more red base to counteract

Just re dye it with a reddish brown.

Just so you know ash means green or purple undertones.

When going brown from blonde it's best to fill your hair with a red and then dye it brown.

The issue is the ASH part of the colour if I recall correctly. A friend used to have those problems, and her hair dresser said to avoid any colours with ash in them. That seemed to remedy her problem, but get advice from a professional or you could end up with a head of fried hair!!
