Does Olive Oil really do wonders on dry hair? Mine is actually pretty healthy despite every day straightening and blow drying (I use a lot of hair products and I would definitely recommend any and all TRESemme products), and once a week I like to wash with Wen and then deep condition with some leave in conditioners I have by leaving them in overnight. Anyway, to get to my point: I have heard great things about olive oil treatments and want to try it so I want to hear your opinions on the benefits of it and how to do it!

Olive oil is just amazing! I love it. I use it in my hair to condition, my skin to remove make up and moiturize, my lips (with sugar) as a scrub, and I use it in my salads as a healthy dressing. lol. that was so stupid. I'm sorry. I'll go now.

I do an olive oil treatment on my hair every Sunday morning. I have really curly hair and it has helped a lot with the friziness. I hear up the olive oil and mix it with a leave in conditioner, put a shower cap on and I sit under the dryer for 30 minutes. I leave it in until the next morning and then wash my hair out and let it air dry or use the diffuser.

So I can just use the olive oil that you cook with? The idea of mixing with sugar and putting it on your lips is great, I'll have to try that! Mine get so chapped and dry during the winter.. If I treated my hair with it three days a week, would it be excessive do you think? Also, should I wet my hair before applying it?

Yes, the same oil.
I'd say.... maybe twice a week. Depending on how damaged your hair is. and focus it on the ends. Maybe start out every three days and then slowly go to like once a week.
And with the scrub I also added some lipbalm for a thicker substance and also more moisture.

Yes regular cooking olive oil. And it all depends on your hair type I think it would be excessive only because you will have extra oil on top of natural oils left in your hair. And no don't wet your hair before applying. You can also blast it with the hair dryer to open your follicles so that the olive oil penetrates your scalp As well.

I think I'll try tonight and see how my hair is in the morning.. Does it improve shine too? I have medium thickness natural wavy hair and it does get pretty oily at night. Thank you guys for all your advice!
