How does the curl from a bubble wand differ from a straight barrel? Anyone use this tool? Thoughts?

From what I have seen, the bubble wand makes the curls a lot less uniform. Because you can't get it around the barrel the same way every time the curls all look different! It kind of looks more messy and natural because none of them are what you would call "perfect" curls where they are all the same.

I bought the babyliss pro curler...it wraps the hair in a barrel...There are three size settings..I just vary it...my hair is poker straight...here's a pic!
