Do you really believe wearing makeup to cover acne helps?

I see that people give advice on how to cover acne but do you really believe it covers them? I have to be honest I think it makes it stand out more and know matter how are you try to cover it,lighting doesn't.This thought came to mind when a guy I was talking about makeup and his major pet peeve was when girls try to cover acne with loads of makeup and he didn't understand why when he thought you Still can notice and looked so caked on. So I ask what are your thoughts on this subject?

well... i see many girls/women who do that but my opinion is if you love or enjoy wearing makeup i dont think acne should stop you. even if it may not look right to the next person, i guess theyre confident and just dont care what ppl say. all that matters really :)

I never cover up any acne that might pop up. I don't even bother covering up old acne scars. If it makes another feel confident to go thru all that then I'm happy for them but for me its a no go.
