I don't believe protein molecules will penetrate the hair directly ;)
but egg is an excellent conditioner. I used to add egg in my henna- mixture back in the day to prevent extra dryness that the henna may cause to my hair,I don't use henna anymore. I have a frn who uses egg on her hair every week and swears by it. acc to her, it helps tremendously in keeping the hair ultra straight!

That sounds disgusting and unsanitary!! Do you know how many people get salmonella from raw eggs!? I would not suggest it unless you want your hair to be full of disease ridden bacteria...

It does nothing to benefit your hair. It's cheaper and better to go to Sally's and get a protein mask for 99 cents.
