Since some zits form when diet or oil is trapped in a pore you could try putting hot water on a washcloth and putting it over it to help open up the pores. I find this can reduce its size almost immediately. After doing this you could try crushing up some aspirin and mixing it into a paste with water and letting it sit there over night since aspirin is a anti inflammatory , which would help with it swelling.

Take some Advil. It's not only a pain reliever, its an anti-inflammatory so it will reduce redness & swelling. Take it as directed for 24hrs.

A wet green tea bag is also anti-bacterial and antiinflammatory. Visine will take the redness down a bit.
