Hi guys, I'm new to this app and relativly new to the whole makeup game. I've seen a lot of posts on here with people with stunning skin, obviously emphasised by contouring.
Now I know we can't all be Kim Kardashian, but does anyone have any tips on how to contour, step by step instructions, product reccomendations etc.etc.
It would really help! x

I highly suggest looking up tutorials on YouTube because it'll help to really see it! A good one to check out is the highlighting and contouring tutorial by Jaclyn Hill.:) She's my favorite beauty guru on YouTube! Look it up:) Hope it helps!

@Janet B. if you go to make up stores like MAC, Sephora, Ulta etc. the professional artists can show you in person. I suggest Sephora. Sephora is my favorite.

@Rebecca, thanks for the welcome! I love it here already! But about going to those make up stores, I'm not to sure where they are where I live. cos I live in London.
Also do you use any specific brands or kits, because it can be hard finding a kit for my skin colour that doesn't just glitter and nothing else

Wayne Goss has awesome videos on how to contour, and also a product I've been hearing a lot of great reviews on is Anastasia's contour kit. (I think it's actually sold out pretty much everywhere, unfortunately.) Anyway, back to contouring, You're basically just adding dimension to the face. You highlight the areas where the light hits your face, such as the bridge of the nose, the high points of your cheeks, and your browbone. You would use a close to white shadow for this. To add depth to your face you would use a taupey powder/cream that would most likely be provided in your contour kit, and mark both sides of your nose, the top of your forehead, your cheekbones, etc., anywhere that you want to add more depth to. This will create the illusion of shadows. JUST MAKE SURE TO BLEND BLEND BLEND WHATEVER PRODUCTS YOU ARE USING!

You just need to practise Janet :) look at videos on you tube, ask professional make up artist to show you and practise at home. Once you keep trying, it gets easier. I like watching Carly bybel video on you tube. Good luck :)
