I would definitely go to a salon for the color correction...You may be able to go back to the salon and ask the same person to redo it if you felt comfortable. Otherwise, I would make a couple appointments for consultations. When you are there ask them about how long you should wait to do anything(or if you can do it right way), what colors they could see being done, how they plan on handling your hair, and ask about the damage done/repairing your hair. I would also tell them what you don't like about your hair and what you would like to see done to it. Bring photographs or any references you have and ask if they have a portfolio or can show you some of their work(or look at their websites if they/the salon has one). I would do this for a couple of salons or stylists and who ever you like the best and seem to trust with your hair, go for it!
I am very very picky about who I let touch my hair and that is how I find a stylist every time I move or need a new stylist. Its really helpful seeing how people can help you before you make a big commitment to trust them with your corrective color.

Maybe it's the tone of blonde? Ask to have a toner put on. Lightening your brows a few shades may make it better as well.
