Yessss it is very bad! Vaseline is a sealent so it's great for sealing in moisture...and bacteria. And leftover makeup. And whatever you have on your eyes that you can and cannot see.

What jenny said! never put vaseline on your eyes or for your lashes. its a sealant and sealants can clog your poresand as jenni said this leads to infections. If I use vaseline anywhere on my face its only on my lips.

I used to put it in my eyes at night and never had problems. My lashes grew I think though.

Ty eyelashes have a cycle in which they grow. nothing except lattisse can make them grow. and you need a prescription from a doctor for it. vaseline gives the illusion of growth bcs its all product buildup.

I know girls here advise against it, but I used to have very dry cracky eyelids and I put Vaseline on them overnight. I never had any problems, and it moisturized my lids very well :)

Vaseline does not moisturize. It is a sealant and a lubricant. It will trap moisture against the skin, giving the illusion of moisturizing. It is a very effective sealant, and can clog tear ducts, clog lash follicles, trap bacteria, and cause sties and conjunctivitis.
It is only beneficial when applied over lotion on hands and feet. Otherwise, it serves no purpose.

I'm just saying what worked for me.

I use it all the time to moisturize/soften my skin. What I like to do is put on either an oil or cream, then put a thin coat of vaseline all over. I have also used it to remove eye makeup, and I have never ever had a problem. It depends on your skin and how much you use/ how well you remove it

I've used it on my eyes and it has helped my eyelashes grow a great deal. But I would only use a little amount, or if anything some kind of bio oil instead.

Don't put on eyes, put on eye lashes they grow fast!

Nothing except prescription Latisse will make lashes grow. That is a plain scientific fact.
Petroleum products are not safe for use on your face or eyes (including eye lashes). Do so at your own peril, but know you are putting your health at risk for absolutely no benefit whatsoever.
