They definitely give you volume :) they won't really cause much damage unless you're trying to rip out hair lol.

I have the conair hot roller set and they volume nicely but the curl never lasts for me. I have tried using mass amounts of hairspray and still my curls disappear with in a couple hours. It doesn't seem to do much if any damage to my hair though so I guess that's a plus. I'm much happier with the results I get from using my curling wand even though that is pretty damaging to me hair.
