Lemon to whiten teeth along with baking soda, it will just ruin your enamel. Same goes for lemon in your hair to lighten it, it's too acidic and dries your hair out a lot. There are a lot of diy's involving cinnamon, be careful before trying it on your face as an allergic reaction from it is never nice and you may end up with a swollen face. Always patch test! :)

DIY Ingredients to never use:
Toothpaste
Baking Soda
Vinegar ( Not including Unfiltered, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar. Do not use the filtered version as it tends to be regular vinegar with food coloring. )
Lemons/Limes/Citruses ( Including diluted, oil versions, so on and so forth. )
Alcohol
Cinnamon
Papaya
Peppermint
Rose ( Rose water does not have benefits. It is a fragrance which is irritating. )
Fruit extracts ( Natural way of saying fragrance=irritation. )
Witch Hazel ( Can be tolerated but usually contributes to redness and irritation. )
Lavender Oil ( Fragrance, Irritating, and Phototoxic contrary to the belief that it is 'relaxing'. The only thing relaxing is the scent. )
Essential Oils
Lemongrass
Spices & Almond Extract
Dairy ( Stick to dairy free like Coconut Milk or Almond Milk if you must. The skin can be sensitive to dairy. )
Eucalyptus
Mint
