I'm not a fan of the dress
but for him to match he should get a tux and have anything that is colored. Have it purple. Same as the dress. I feel a grey or white tux would look amazing to match that dress!!

Black tux, white shirt, black or white bow tie, and black shoes. If you feel so inclined have him wear a boutonnière in a matching lavender.

My boyfriend always wore all black tuxes to prom and only had the pop of color for the tie, or bowtie if that's what your date prefers. It looked pretty awesome:)
