I've been dyeing my hair black for years and have decided to grow it out and keep my natural colour. My natural colour is dark brown. Is there anything I can do to make it look less awful while it's growing out?

See if you can streak brown into the black with a lightener.

Go to a salon & have them dye your hair your natural color.

Thanks sapphire!
Hopefully it won't, I would do that but I'm trying not to get my hair bleached any more as it's already in awful condition. Thankyou though, I might look into more ways that I can lighten it! :)

Dawn dish soap strips out hair dye but you need to deep condition because it will dry your hair. Also you can use a clarifying shampoo.
