I used to have the samee problem & I'm no expert but this is what my routine is that helped me & I hope this helps too. what I do is I bought a stifiling brush (I think thats what its called) cause it evens out how much foundations on your face & I use fit foundation & it has a really light coverage! just don't layer the foundation. usually ppl can't tell if I'm wearing foundation anyways then I use a flat brush by elf & blend my whole face evenly & then just dust translucent powder then your good! it prob depends on what type of skin type you have. I use a primmer that mattifies my face but I don't know about primers lol. I hope I helped 😊

Put some light moisturizer on, then put on a thin layer of foundation with a makeup sponge...then maybe touch it up with powder...that's how I do mine :) hope this helps

Apply very little at a time. start in the Center and blend out making sure to brush down for the finishing strokes so you don't catch your baby hairs. you can always add more But the key is very thin layers. I use the elf small stippled brush then if I have any streaks I use a flattop brush to smooth them out. if you have dry skin skip the powder and for for a luminous foundation such as the true match lumi by loreal. if your oily go for a matte foundation like the rimmel stay matte then apply very little powder on your oily spots and press not brush it on. also if you need to touch up use an oily blotting sheet then another thin coat of powder so it doesn't cake up. as for primers make sure they are compatible with the foundation. you don't want a silicone primer with a waterbased foundation, it won't apply right. for dry skin I love the elf mineral infused primer and for oily the stay matte one also from rimmel. you can also use a setting spray to take away any powderiness on your face. nyx makes a matte one for oily skin and a dewy one for dry skin.

Often people who don't like the cakey appearance of foundation really like the Maybelline Fit Me liquid foundation, it is really light on the skin and gives a dewy finish which you can tone down by putting a dusting of powder over it. The finish is very skin-like and gives a medium coverage.
