I toned my (bleached blonde) hair and I had a bit of roots (dirty blonde/light brown) and they turned orange from toner! (looks brighter in real life) I was wondering what anyone suggests to do? I have purple shampoo I was thinking about letting it sit on my roots for a while?

Pick a toner that has a blue base so it will cancel out the orange.

Megan use your purple shampoo :) My roots can turn a bit orange when toning them as well and I just was my hair in a purple shampoo, it removes the orange :) I just let it sit for 5-10 minutes!

My toner did have a blue base I don't know why it turned so brassy, I'll keep using my purple shampoo.

Oh mee that's no fun! Yea let the purple shampoo sit...but watch your blonde pieces...you don't wanna go from orange roots to purple highlights :O.

Yes a blue toned purple shampoo will tone the orange. Just brush on the shampoo to the roots and let it sit on for awhile

DO NOT USE WELLA T18 TO REMOVE BRASSINESS FROM YOUR NATURAL ROOTS. That will literally make it worse. If you cannot avoid getting it on your roots then don't do it yourself. The orange will fade over time but there's nothing you can do about it toner-wise.
