Hey girls, usually I can wear any type of foundation, but my skin is insanely dry and flaky this winter. I moisturize all the time but can't stop my skin, forehead and nose in particular, from flaking and my makeup looking cakey and dry. What foundations and moisturizers do you recommend for a dry face? (normally I have a combination/oily face. the dry parts that I can't handle are my forehead, nose and sometimes under my eyes/tops of my cheeks) Thanks!

I wouldn't use baby lotion just because I know it would break me out. I highly recommend CeraVe, I have horribly dry skin and it has helped so much (I was using Cetaphil before) I use the hydrating cleanser and the moisturizing lotion (you may want to try the cream for nighttime since you're skin is really dry). But it works great and its not greasy feeling, it feels light but it really helped with my dryness.

Try the oil cleansing method, it works wonders on dry dehydrated skin
Also gently exfoliate. Use a gentle moisturizing cleanser. And a really good moisturizer (I recommend CeraVe products) after you moisturize, try sealing it in with jojoba oil. If you live in a humid climate, you'll benefit from using a humectant like glycerin, aloe Vera gel, or hyaluronic acid.

Any recommendations on what type of foundation I should use? I mainly use Mary Kay mineral powder foundation because I don't need a lot of coverage on a day to day basis. if I want more coverage I use Mary Kay liquid or a cream foundation. I always set it with a powder afterwards.

So far the best foundation I have tried for my dry skin is Clinique Even Better.

You're welcome, and I agree with using the vitamin e oil too, I mix it in with my moisturizer m, and I prefer vitamin e oil in non capsule form because its messier to break open the capsules. I use the brand radiance that I bought cvs.

I agree with Jacqueline. That foundation is unique in texture and actually flattens out the flakies, so you can't see them.
