A lot of stores have no control over hiring and it goes through corporate stuff. I'd ask an associate so you don't waste time. :-/.

im not certain if when you work at a counter if your hired by MAC or the department store, my sister worked for estee lauder was paid by Carson's but trained and received gratis thru estee lauder which is owns MAC. and during your interview show your dependability, you talent, product knowledge and research the company and plans they may have coming number of stores in which counties and so on and so forth. sell them on you and sell them on the company you will absolutely dazzle them

So the mac counter doesnt take resumes? Ive been seeing alot of people saying that mac inside the department stores are not really affiliated with that department store so the hr dept doesnt take the resumes. Is that true?

The MAC counter where I live do take resumes. Where I live, MAC is in Macy's. You wouldn't go through the department store to apply. Ask how many times they hire a year too because in Maine, they only hire one person every August. Having an ethnic background helps as well! Good luck!

Even if MAC is in a dept store, NAC does the hiring and lauder is on your pay checks. go in with a full face on and have a model available as you have to do an application using MAC products so it will help you to know the differences in foundations, concealers, powders etc. drop by your local counter, ask for the manager give your resume and an intro. Check in a few times a month. you might not get an interview right away but persistance goes a long way...
