Thinking of getting synthetic single ended dreadlocks and just wanted to know what they feel like and if they would suit me.

I feel dreads would suit you :)
There is a cheaper wet called faux dreads. You make them with your own hair and you use a comb, hairspray and a straighter to get the look. Also texturizing cream for hair can be used. It also a good way to see if you like how it looks on you.
It's what I do when I want to do dreads. Here is a picture

I say go for it! I did a mixture of single and double ended ones once and I found them quite heavy. I put double ended at the bottom of my head, and only did single ended ones at the top of my hair and around my hairline. They were easy to make, easy to install, and easy to remove. I did have a sore neck after wearing them though, I found them to be quite heavy, but definitely something you can get used to after a couple of days =)

If you want temporary dreads you could always get yarn locks or genie locks. They last as long as box braids, Senegalese twists, etc.
