I've tried one by Revlon, one by Hard Candy, & the one from Benefit. Tbh, the first 2 were way better (at least for me) than the Benefit one.

Milk of Magnesia is horrible for your skin and will make it worse over time and can cause bad breakouts and clogs pores. People who use Milk of Magnesia should only use it once in a while and not everyday. Check out a sample of the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. It works very nicely on my oily skin, if you get the smaller bottle it's only $20 and it lasts for months. Most people rave about it as their holy grail primer.

When looking at primers you have to look into the purpose of finish you want.So many think all primers are the same but that is not the case. Some can be to moisturizing and can counteract with certain products and make your face look like a melting pot and some are Anti-shine matte finish with just enough smoothness to not go against your skin.It sounds like you need a primer like my personal fave Sephora collections Base Zero brilliance Anti-Shine primer, A Pro is it mattifies instantly while absorbing excess sebums. That's a huge plus for oily skin.I hope that this bit of information helps you and also a quick fyi make sure all products share a common importance so they do not play against each other.( common ingredients and purpose) Have a great day :)

Also you could try the Murad Oil-Control Mattifier. It's not a primer but greatly reduces oil throughout the day. Buy it through amazon though because it's cheaper online.

Elf cosmetics! They do 3 types of primers for the one which suits you best! And really helps absorb oil try the clear one if your not sure which one or the green one if you have redness or blemishes.

Paula's Choice Shine Stopper! Works like a DREAM. My skin gets oily within an hour of applying makeup which is such a nightmare and this really helps delay the oil.

I like the mattifying primer by cover fx, also I find that setting makeup with powder helps get that matte look - either powder foundation or a mattifying setting powder (again I like cover fx)

Also alma is right I try to use oil free or water based products that all have a mattifying effect or matte finish - like oil free n matte moisturizer, liquid foundation, and setting powder and all of them combined keep me matte all day long!
