How should I do my hair?

So I'm getting bored with my hair. I love the whole "indie scene" look, but I have no idea if I could pull it off. I already have bangs and some choppy layers, but not to that extent. My hair is naturally straight and fine. Also, what colors? I like almost all hair colors - But what would look best? I love red ombres, or anything red, orange, or platinum. I have light brown hair with big hazel eyes.
