I use mac mineralized moisture foundation and loreal true match lumi mixed, then macs mineral skin finish natural to set. I swear by that combo

Also Smashbox has a hydrating primer that I find a little too slippery and watery so I mix it with their photo finish primer and it makes my makeup glide on and stay out alllllllll day

I have normal/dry skin and my favorite foundations are Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hr Full Coverage Foundation, Revlon Colorstay, Dior Airflash, Chanel Vitalumiere, and MUFE HD. My favorite setting powders are Rimmels Stay Matte, Tarte Smooth Operator Translucent Powder, and Elf HD Setting Powder. None of these products have ever emphasized dry patches or made me look cakey.
The best face wash I have used is the Kiehls Gentle Foaming Face cleanser. It isn't meant for acne, but it definitely deep cleans. It doesn't make your face feel tight or dry after either. My favorite moistruizer is the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moistruizer. Doesn't feel greasy and keeps me hydrated.

I have VERY dry skin, so I feel your pain! The most important thing is to moisturize at night and before you even put makeup on. I use Vanicream at night (I found it at Target) and Clinique's lotion for dry skin before I put on any makeup. It's so simple, but hot diggity does it make a difference. And yes, I did just say "hot diggity" because HOT DIGGITY IT's GREAT. Okay I'll go now...
