I use Beauty So Clean to sanitize my products and a daily brush cleaner as well as a once a week deep cleaning product for my brushes. the daily Sanitizer is starting to get costly since I use a lot of brushes. any home recipes for a daily brush cleaner ? I only use synthetic brushes so not sure if that will make a difference in what you use

I use the Japonesque/Parian Spirt brush cleanser for my daily and spot cleaning, I know it's not a homemade product but you can get it very inexpensively on Amazon or as part of a BOGO at Ulta. For my once a week deep cleaning, I use Dr. Bronner's Liquid Castile Soap and it's the best thing ever. I wash about 20-30 brushes a week and I use about a tablespoon and a half of Dr. Bronner's to get them all totally clean. It's also very cheap online, and I get it at Target when I don't want to wait for it. I paid $17 for a bottle that has lasted me for almost 2 years. Hope this helps!

Antibacterial soap+Oil thanks to Michelle Phan
Alcohol once in a while to strip them.
Beauty so clean... hmm I thought that was a product sanitizer... sounds expensive as a brush cleaner

I don't think the olive oil is needed for synthetic brushes because the bristles don't need to be conditioned like animal hair, but I could try the antibacterial soap. for the deep clean but was looking for something I could just spray on for daily spot cleaning. maybe I'll try alcohol. yes I only use beauty so clean for my makeup products, not brushes

Michelle for clients that's why I need a true Sanitizer I'm going to look into the japonesque one I just want something cheaper that still disinfects. I do wash my personal brushes with same cleansers I use on clients though. I was kind of wondering if anyone made their own with alcohol and if anything else needed to be added etc

I use baby shampoo on my personal brushes. I'm in a mud makeup class right now and in between clients we sanitize our brushes with I believe 99% alcohol. It cleans well and dries fast.

Yeah the olive oil isnt necessary but I mix one batch and use it on all brushes so...
And I find that oil does help to cleanse makeup... its like a solvent for many makeup, then the soap if the surface acting agent. I have a few syn brushes the have this sort of scum precipitate even after washing with soap. Only alcohol and oil can get it off.
I think this scum occurs because I use milk of magnesia but idk.
