So I'm in year 10, and I have a couple of years until prom. But my friends have already started talking about prom dresses, makeup and hair. When should I start planning this?? I don't want to leave it to the last minute!! Thanks girls!

Well you are pretty young and prom isn't until 16 so you seriously don't need to start thinking about that until you're 16!

Probably not until a few months before. Like in January or February if its important to you. Or like the month of if you just see it as a dance

I would wait till like a year or half a year before just incase the style changes or the dress somehow happenes to not fit

Just before Christmas the year before prom :) I went then and things were already being sold out and you don't want to turn up in the same dress as someone else! Don't start too early but then again, better a little early than too late! :)

My prom is in June and I haven't thought about it at all! At the end of the day (even though it sounds so so so boring), exams are more important!! So don't go crazy!xx

My prom is this June and I bought my dress in september. I knew exactly what
I wanted. I ended up finding it on an american website reduced by 70%. The p&p was actually more expensive than the dress but it came to about £45 in the end. (it would have originally been like £150 with p&p and that was way above my price range).
My advice is if you know exactly what you want start looking soon because if you've got the idea of a perfect dress in your mind it can be quite hard to find when your in the uk. We don't have as many shops that sell prom dresses and even in the ones that do the styles and colour range may be limited.
If you're not to bothered/undecided about the style or colour wait till a couple of months before prom because you don't want to spend loads a dress early only to change your mind and want a different one a month before prom.
If you want a bargin go shopping after prom season this year has finished, almost everything will be reduced to some extent.
