They're the most painful tattoo.. ribs are a close second. however, everyone has different pain tolerances, so what might be incredibly painful for someone else may not be that bad for you.

My sister is a great threshold when it comes to pain and she has a foot tattoo so it can't be unbearable. It depends what hurts you most, tattoos on muscle or bone and your pain tolerance. If you want it enough you won't care if it's painful though

The foot, ribs, and the underneath of your arms by your armpit are said to hurt the worst. But like Kyra said the pain is different for everyone. My mom and her friend got matching foot tattoos and it barely hurt my mom but her friend cried a lot lol.

Your foot has a lot of bone in it which can cause it to be more painful than getting one on your thigh or somewhere where there's more meat :) everyone's different though!

My boyfriend said that his feet hurt the least and his back the worst lol he is weird. anyways, pain is only temporary (:

I'd agree with your boyfriend Mikayla! My thigh was my most painful but I didn't even feel the ones on my collarbone and spine haha

Yeah my foot tat didn't really hurt that bad, which was surprising since everyone said its the worst. I think I might have a high pain tolerance though because most of my tats never hurt me and places I have mine I've seen people cry when getting theirs.

I got a foot tattoo as my first tattoo and it was the worst pain I've ever felt. I have a pretty high tolerance to pain but I couldn't believe how much it hurt. You have to be super still and my leg kept twitching uncontrollably. I would go through it again though because it's addicting

Thats a big first tattoo. Have you ever had any piercings or anything? Just trying to figure out your pain tolerance because you want to have a good one to go through a big tattoo first go. (Don't want to start it and 10 minutes in figure out you can't take the pain and be left with a half finished tattoo...)

Yeah I have two piercings in both ears and I did my belly button but it got infected so I let it close.

Get the tattoos only if they have a significant meaning to you.

Few questions I always think about before getting my next tattoo:
1. How long have you wanted to get this?
2. Does it have any meaning?
3. Will I really want this on my body when I have kids?
4. Where do I want it?
5. Will it be constantly visible? Will it be constantly covered?
6. Will it affect any future jobs?
And then I leave the picture of what I want around the house for a year or two and if I still want it then I'll get it.

Well I am still thinking about it, I'm leaving for about camp on the 18th then when I graduate I'm getting it done by this really good tattoo artist in Chicago so I have some time.

Worst pain ever. I have an odd tolerance to pain though. I pierce and have pierced myself for years. (cheek, ears, nose, ect.) within 15 minutes of the initial pain I wanted to quit right there. hahaha. but fortunately I pushed through it. irregardless of my painful story and others on here. If it's a tattoo you'll really enjoy, Go for it girl!

I'm not trying to be harsh or mean but I think you need to think about it for another good while, you don't seem to know what you want and as a general rule if you need to ask others what to get you probably shouldn't be getting it. When you get a tattoo you should be 100% sure that that exact design and size and placement is exactly what you want. I'd wait a year or two before getting it. If you can't wait a year, it's not worth a lifetime.
